ELA:
Tuck Everlasting Novel: Students should have now read to the end of Chapter 20 and we will finish our novel study next week. Please ensure students are practicing their spelling words on a regular basis. Spelling tests will take place every Friday. We will begin our Newspaper Unit... along with Ancient Greek Gods Research Project soon. Eventually, we will write a newspaper article about their Greek God.
Social Studies:
This week we had our test on The Provincial Government (marks are on PowerSchool), we review previous assignments (marks are also in PowerSchool), talked about Black History Month and started to talk about our new chapter, The Founder of Democracy in ancient Athens. Next week, we will go deeper into this chapter and learn about the different reality at that time and similar aspects of democracy.
FLA:
This week, students are working on writing a letter. It is a good practice for the PAT writing evaluation. Here are the guidelines and rubric (this one might be a little bit harder to read - the scan did not come out so well): Lettre et grille d'évaluation.
