This week in social we started our notes on the Provincial Government and a research project about French services that are offered in Calgary. Next week, we will finish this project and continue notes.
ELA:
This week we started our Spelling Unit: On Monday, students will be given their spelling lists and activities to go with it. Please ensure they are spending some time studying these words and that they understand the sound links of each of the words. On Fridays for Term 2 we will be completing the following task(s): spelling tests, grammar practice, typing skills and/or penmanship practice.
We also started our Novel Study: Tuck Everlasting By Natalie Babbit, We will be reading it in class, so students will have some reading homework if they are absent, or need to complete the activities assigned.
Math 6- Poirier
We will estimate results of decimal
numbers (÷/x mentally).
Students will have a Math Test on Wednesday, February 5th 2020 on
the unit of decimal numbers. (Review
sheet will be posted a week before)

We talked about the "discours oratoire". Their will be a few periods reserved to work on that at school, but it is expected that students will have to finish it and practice it at home. The presentations will start February 18th. Here are the guidelines and rubric : Discours oratoire.
